HOW TO MAKE HEMP TEA?

Hemp tea and how to make it right.

The preparation of hemp tea is uniquely old; its formulation stretches back to ancient antique times. Using a hemp plant in tea preparation is currently found in abundance though its popularity is on the rise. This is caused by the fact that hemp herbal tea contains longer preparation time compared to the other more popular teas, including green tea, black tea, or fruit tea. However, the process of brewing hemp tea is significantly healthier and way more beneficial for our overall health and wellbeing.

With a tiny bit of patience, you will be able to prepare yourself for a healthy and relaxing drink. Hemp tea is extremely beneficial for those who are experiencing sore throat and breathing problems.

As you now know, the hemp plant contains a high number of beneficial factors.

It is best known for the sedative and analgesic (potentially pain-relieving compound) effects that come directly from cannabidiol which is the active ingredient in fibrous hemp. Even the small amount of CBD (usually found up to 5%) found in hemp tea can benefit your sleep and digestion – a perfect supplement before your night’s sleep.

By following these easy steps, you can master how to prepare hemp tea for a restful night. You only need a couple of ingredients (which are probably sitting somewhere in your kitchen), including hemp leaves and its petals.

Carefully separate the cannabis petals from their branches (if any).

Place crushed cannabis petals inside a tea bag or tea filter. Make sure that either the tea bag or tea filter is well secured to avoid leakage. Fill any kitchen pot with cold water and place your tea bag inside it. To prepare two cups of tea you will need 1000ml of water and 0.8g (approximately 1g) of hemp tea. As soon as the water starts boiling, cover the pot with a lid and let the tea brew for at least another 15 minutes.

Helpful tip

Since the boiling water tends to evaporate, make sure to constantly add a splash of water to the pot. As soon as the brewing process reaches 15 minutes, we recommend adding some pasteurized milk into the pot. Remember that the active components of cannabis dissolve in fat rather than water. Therefore, the fatty ingredient must be used in order to activate the cannabidiol. After adding milk to the pot, let the tea brew at a lower temperature for another 10 minutes. Remember to keep stirring the contents.

You can still get the calming effects of hemp tea without adding any of the fatty ingredients, but please note that calming effects will be slightly lower.

After another 10 minutes your cannabis tea will be ready – though let it simmer for couple more minutes. You can enrich the flavour by adding honey or agave syrup (sugar is also okay to use but it is not the healthiest choice).

For those who enjoy more pleasant and richer aroma tea

We suggest that you use some lemon zest and a cinnamon stick for a tastier experience. Such preparation will enhance your drinking experience. The aromas within these ingredients will reveal their true flavour while sipping on your tea. If you use cream in your tea then the lemon zest may have an effect on it, therefore we advise you to use milk (almond, rice, or soy milk). Others like to add butter or cocoa butter to their cannabis tea in order to obtain a stronger effect of CBD. We suggest you try this method as well.

For those who enjoy fruity, green, mint, gingery, or chamomile teas, we recommend that you simply add your regular tea bag to the cannabis tea (the effect of CBD will be weaker). We suggest using hemp tea with other teas that do not contain any caffeine.

After following these simple yet effective steps, pour the tea into your favourite cup, sit back and evoke relaxation within you. We wish you nothing but cosy and restful winter nights. We guarantee that you will wake up in a good mood and full of energy.

P.S. you can always prepare hemp tea by simply soaking it in a hot water. However, this method won’t reveal the true colours of the tea. The choice is always yours.
