Health benefits of flaxseed
Flax is considered as one of the oldest fibrous plants in the world. It originates from Egypt and China, and it also has a rich history of growing traditions in Lithuania. The name flax comes from the Latin name “Linum usitatissimum”, which translates to “very useful”. Flaxseed is a very valuable food product that contains a high amount of significant nutrients including fibre, manganese, vitamin B1, and the essential fatty acid alpha-linolenic (omega-3). Findings have shown that flaxseed contains antioxidant features and can reduce the risk of cancer, diabetes, and heart diseases.
